Yesterday saw the release of the background information documents to the writers and editors. These comprise:
The setting document
Containing details on the style of the show and any important information relating to where and when it is set. For instance, it gives a rough guide to where Llanmorgan is located – the fictional town where this series is based.
The character bible
Containing breakdowns of all the characters. This is probably going to be the most used and updated document on the series. Each of the writers will be referring to it when they write to ensure that the characters are consistent throughout each episode in the series.
This episode document
Containing a break down of the series-wide plot and character arcs. It also lists all of the episodes and will host the episode treatments when they have been written and accepted. This document will allow each writer to see the who series at a glance and know what is happening in each episode even if they don’t have access to that script.
I am asking the writers to supply me with a pitch for any episodes they would like to write. At this stage I am not looking for written episodes or even scene by scene breakdowns. At this stage I am looking for a description of what is going to happen in each episode.
If all goes well each of the episodes in the series will be allocated an writer who can then go off and start work.
The deadline for pitches is Monday 26 July, so if you feel you could write an episode of two please do get in contact and I will give you access to these documents.
